About Insight Statistical Consulting

Originally established in 1989 as a Trinity College campus company, the company has grown to be a leading independent statistical consultancy with clients in Ireland and abroad. We still maintain the unique link with the Department of Statistics in Trinity College and with members of the statistics department.

Meet The Team

David Harmon, MA MBS, Managing Director

David Harmon David has managed the company since 1993 following completion of the Management Science and Information Systems Studies (MSISS) degree course in the Department of Statistics at Trinity College Dublin. He also holds a Master of Business Studies in Marketing Research from the University College Dublin Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. David is a member of the Marketing Society of Ireland, ESOMAR and is Treasurer of the Social Research Association of Ireland. David has experience working with key clients such as Forfas, Enterprise Ireland, Department of Education & Skills, Bank of Ireland and The National Lottery.

Geoff Tucker, MA, Quantitative Marketing Researcher

Geoff Tucker Geoff is a Quantitative Marketing Researcher with a BA and MA in Economics from University College Dublin and has considerable commercial experience conducting quantitative research projects for both public and private sector clients. This includes managing and delivering commissioned survey research for clients from beginning to end - designing questionnaires, sampling advice, data collection and input, data analysis and reporting. He is previously responsible for directing the research function at one of Ireland's leading estate agencies. Clients Geoff has previously worked for include the Affordable Homes Partnership, Dublin Docklands Development Authority, the Irish Independent and the Irish Auctioneers and Valuers Institute, as well as various central government departments and local authorities across the country. His specific areas of expertise cover the macro-economy, the property market, the labour market and the retail sector.

Olivier Foubert, BA MA, Market Research Analyst

Olivier Foubert Olivier joined Insight in 2003 from a multilingual customer service department. Olivier has a background in Business and Languages with a specialisation in Marketing. During his time in the company, Olivier worked on a variety of quantitative research projects and developed expertise in statistical analysis and process optimisation. His role in the company involves liaising with external partners, validating survey data and monitoring survey processes.

Prof Myra O'Regan, MA MSc PhD, Director & Statistician

Prof Myra O'Regan Dr O'Regan is a Senior Lecturer in Statistics at Trinity College Dublin and has a PhD in Educational Research from Boston College, an MSc in Statistics and a BA Mod in Mathematics from Trinity College. Dr O'Regan is a thought leader in the area of sampling, research design and statistical analysis. Her sectoral specialisations include health, education and banking sector.

Prof Cathal Walsh, MA PhD, Senior Statistician

Prof Cathal Walsh Dr Walsh is a lecturer in Management Science and Statistics at Trinity College Dublin, he joined the company in 1999. His research interests include reliability of physical systems, medical statistics and finance. His PhD was in the area of Bayesian modelling of structural failures. Dr Walsh's area of expertise at Insight is in data manipulation and computational statistical analysis.

Prof Dr Antony Unwin, MA MSc PhD, Director & Statistician

Prof Dr Antony Unwin Antony established the company in 1989 as a campus company of Trinity College Dublin from within the Department of Statistics. Since then, Antony has become the first Professor of Computer-Oriented Statistics and Data Analysis at Universität Augsburg. Antony has extensive commercial experience and special interest areas include interactive statistical graphics, exploratory analysis, large data sets and development of exploratory statistical software.

Angela Moser, Data Processing

Angela Moser Angela provides the highest quality data entry, data processing and organisational services to the company. She joined the company in 2008 and her experience has been gained from many years working in a variety of industries. Angela is also a qualified reflexologist.

Susanne Schmitz, MA, Statistician

Susanne Schmitz Susanne works as a statistician and provides additional statistical support on our ongoing involvement in the smart metering project with Sustainable Energy Association of Ireland and the Commission for Energy Regulation. Susanne is a graduate of the RWTH Aachen University in Germany, where she studied Mathematics, and is currently also undertaking a Phd in statistics at Trinity College.
